Mr. Weir specializes in consulting related to securities, commodities, derivative investment products, risk management, foreign exchange, and trading practices. His expertise includes evaluating the risk-management exposure of major trading and investment firms.
He has testified in more than 50 matters before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the New York Stock Exchange, the National Futures Association (NFA), the Chicago Board of Trade, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the US Bankruptcy Court, the American Arbitration Association, and in a number of federal court cases.
He has served as an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), now the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and the NFA, and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Futures Industry Association's Chicago Division.
